Maple Pecan Bars
These rich bars are best served warm!

Shortbread Crust:
Prepare and 8x8" pan by lining it with parchment paper
1 stick plus 2 tbsps butter at room temperature

1/3 cup powdered sugar

2 tbsps brown sugar
1 cup flour

1/2 tsp sea salt

1) Place all ingredients in a mixer and mix until just combined.

2) Press into bottom of the pan and bake at 350 until golden brown (about 15 minutes).

Filling:
7 oz butter

½ cup milk (whole, preferably)
1/2 cup sugar

¼ cup brown sugar

2 Tbsps maple syrup
3 cups chopped, toasted pecans

1) Bring the butter and milk to a slow simmer.

2) Add in the sugars and syrup and cook down on medium for 3-4 minutes. Stir in the pecans.
3) Pour over the baked crust.
4) Bake at 350 for another 20 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
